Katarina Aronsson, lives in Stockholm, Sweden.
Most of my watercolours are inspired by nature. Many motives come from Österlen in the south of Sweden, where the sea and the sky meet in the most beautiful landscape. The images can shift dramatically depending on the time of year. Yellow fields, stormy weather, sunny beaches, rose gardens, green woods and waving hills never stop fascinating me. I also like to paint people, especially life-drawing. To catch the movement and lines in a body in watercolour can be challenging, the motive changing fast and the watercolours drying slowly. But the reward when you get the light right is great.
I work as Dramaturg & Head of Programming at the Royal Swedish Opera, working professionally with music and drama since 2011. I started painting 20 years ago on my free time and have taken courses at Gerlesborgsskolan Bohuslän and Stockholm.
My work has been exhibited at Galleri Eklund in Stockholm.
